James Corden responds to backlash to Get Weinstein joke

After remarks he made in Friday’s AmfAR Gala were met with groans, the late-night TV host tweeted.  

“It’s a beautiful night here in L.A.. So beautiful, Harvey Weinstein has asked tonight as much as his hotel to give him a massage,” he said from the stage. “It has been weird this week, even though, watching Harvey Weinstein in hot water. Request any. ”

A chunk of the remarks of Corden went viral, and was met with criticism on Twitter amongst others, from Asia Argento and Weinstein accusers Rose McGowan.

Corden addressed that the backlash in a pair of tweets: “To be clear, sexual assault is no laughing matter. I not tried to make light of Harvey’s inexcusable behavior, but to pity him, the abuser, not his victims. I’m truly sorry for anyone offended, that was not my intention,” he wrote.

Ex-intern alleges Manufacturer exposed himself to her in 1980

A lady says Harvey Weinstein exposed himself to her when she interned as a production assistant in his first film in 1980 — among the first allegations to surface contrary to the film mogul.

Paula Wachowiak told The Buffalo News she was delivered to rsquo & Weinstein; s hotel room with a heap of checks for him.

Weinstein was standing behind the door, ” she says. “When I got into the area, I understood he was holding a hand towel around his waist.” She says that he took the manila folder filled with checks, dropped the towel and was naked underneath.

He told her he asked to get a massage and had a kink in his shoulder, Wachowiak states. “That’s not in my job description,” she says she told Weinstein.

Wachowiak, who was 24 at the time, states she left the room. Later, she says, he asked, “Was seeing me nude the highlight of your internship?”

She says she shared the incident with the film’s accountant and production supervisor.

French president plans to Reverse Legion of Honor award

On Sunday, French President Emmanuel Macron stated he had “started the procedures” to rescind Weinstein’s Legion of Honor award. The award was awarded following the French film The Artist won a few Oscars of the producer.

Woody Allen is Requested about Weinstein

“The whole Harvey Weinstein item is quite sad for everybody involved,” Allen said in a story published Sunday. “Tragic for its poor women which were involved, sad for Harvey that (his) life is so messed up.”

Allen hoped that the allegations against Weinstein would  result in “some amelioration,” but not “into a witch hunt setting, a Salem air, where each guy in an office that winks in a woman is unexpectedly needing to call a lawyer to defend himself. That’s not right either.”

Allen’s son with Mia Farrow, Ronan Farrow, is the reporter who wrote the New Yorker piece that detailed  many of Weinstein’s alleged assaults. Farrow has also alleged that his sister was abused by his father.

British police investigate

London’s Metropolitan Police said Sunday that a woman reported being attacked in 2010, 2011 and 2015 by Weinstein. The police force said officers and Sexual Offenses Command are currently investigating.

These allegations follow another reported in London from British actress Lysette Anthony, who said Weinstein raped her at her house in the late 1980s.
